I believe that great teaching and research should inform one another. My work in the classroom is shaped by my research, and student conversations, in turn, often sharpen my thinking as a scholar. At NYU Stern, I have served as the primary instructor for undergraduate Introduction to Management and Organizations and as a teaching fellow across undergraduate, MBA, and EMBA programs. I have also designed and guest-taught sessions on play and beauty for Jonathan Haidt’s undergraduate course Flourishing and MBA course Work, Wisdom, and Happiness, as well as a session on facilitating team meetings with play for Dolly Chugh’s MBA course Managerial Skills. I stand on the shoulders of teachers who deeply inspired me, and I aim to do the same for my students: to help them think more deeply, live more meaningfully, and lead more humanely.
The primary objective of this course is to help students understand the elements that contribute to organizational and employee success, as well as some of the common impediments to high performance. The class is designed to be highly interactive, and applicable to the students' pain points.
